BMW Will Offer Solid-State Batteries by 2026

Battery life is practically the only obstacle which prevents the electric vehicles from becoming more popular than the gas vehicles. That’s about to change in the near future, at least according to the current plans.

BMW Will Offer Solid-State Batteries by 2026

At the moment, BMW offers an updated battery pack for the i3 by 50%, so it provides nearly 200 km of driving on a single charge.

As Autocar reports, BMW expects to fix this problem with a brand new battery technology that should be available by 2026. It’s supposed to use solid electrolytes instead of the liquid ones. The new batteries will not only have greater capacity but will also be lighter and safer.
