BMW insider Scott27 starts a new and interesting rumor about BMW Group’s plans for the next five years. BMW’s road map, according to the rumor, includes the launch of twenty new models now until 2015. Included in this plan are a couple of Coupe and Convertibles with the 2 Series badge. Other models will be from the 1 Series and 3 Series fleet, with a differentiation of coupe and cabriolet vehicles. The BMW Z2 Roadster and Coupe might also be back on the drawing board.

Scott17 says: “The current strategy is to whether seperate the Coupe (F22) and Cabrio (F23) models of the 1er from the Sporthatch and its forthcoming counterparts that will join the 1er. It is being looked at to seperate the sporty models from the regular models in which – 2er will compliment the Coupe , Cabrio and the Z2 Roadster and Coupe. Weight is the key priority hence why the car will go no further than a four cylinder.”

Please take these rumors with a grain of salt. None of these have been confirmed by BMW yet.
