BMW employees arrested for stealing items from production lines

A BMW employee and a worker at a car-parts supplier have both been arrested last November 24, 2010. They were charged of stealing seats and fittings worth US$4 million from Munich production lines. These two have been detained.
Gottfried Schlicht, a Munich police spokesman, confirmed that another BMW employee is also suspected of being involved in faking production orders and just selling the parts over the Internet.

BMW spokesman Michael Rebstock declined to comment about the issue. The crime is still under investigation. Policemen suspect that there are at least 15 people involved in these fraudulent schemes where BMW products are stolen. Policemen fear that the amount of items lost may be even higher than the initial reports. This problem has been discovered in October 2010.
