Photo Renderings – 2012 BMW 3 Series and 2014 BMW M3

AutoExpress, a UK based Magazine, has published photo renderings of the 2012 BMW 3 Series and the 2014 BMW M3. The next generation BMW 3 Series is expected to be released in 2012 with a slimmer look, dynamic lines, squat proportions and short rear overhangs. These photo renderings show typical 3 Series proportions but with a more muscular look. The shapes involved in the design are clear and uncluttered. It also has lower and wider kidney grilles. The hood shows a design close to the Z4 and the new 5 Series. Many areas of EfficientDynamics will be incorporated in this new model. This will include aerodynamically designed wheels, solar roof panel, brake energy regeneration, stop-start technology, and pre-heating technology. 6-cylinder, 4-cylinder, and even 3-cylinder engines might be available. Power output is expected to reach 450hp. This model will be revealed at the September 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.

For the 2014 BMW M3, a sporty and aggressive bodystyle is still shown in this rendering. Under the hood, this vehicle will be powered by a six-cylinder engine delivering approximately 450 horsepower. This vehicle is expected to be unveiled in late 2012 or during the early months of 2013.
