World Premiere – BMW X1 xDrive28i with four-cylinder TwinPower Turbo

BMW surprised the automotive world with the official launch of a new member of the BMW X1 Series fleet: the new BMW X1 xDrive28i.

What makes all the difference from other members of the X1 family? Well this news Drive28i is now powered by a brand new engine:  the 2.0L gas powered 4-Cylinder which uses BMWs TwinPower turbo technology which delivers 245HP and 350Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0-60 time of 6.1seconds. For a turbo 4 cylinder geared towards efficiency, these numbers are actually quite impressive.

The new turbo 4-cylinder engine is matted to a standard 6-speed manual transmission or an 8-speed automatic transmission. The 6-speed manual cars will include the start-stop technology to further add to the fuel efficiency of the car. In line with sustainable mobility, the vehicle also has lower Co2 emissions rated at 183 g/km.

The new BMW X1 xDrive28i is officially rated at a whopping 35.7 MPG, which is a 5.7MPG improvement from the past BMW models.

Though official photos have not been released, an all all new M Sport Package for the BMW X1 xDrive28i has also been announced. The package will include sports suspension, 17-inch double-spoke M alloy wheels, optional 18-inch double-spoke M alloy wheels, M aerodynamics package including M door sills and High Gloss Shadow line trim for the window surrounds and roof rails, new colors (Alpine White, LeMans Blue, Black Sapphire Metallic, Space Gray, Vermillion Red, Mineral White), Sports seats in cloth/Alcantara, M leather-trimmed steering wheel, BMW Individual roof liner in Anthracite, and dark cross-brushed aluminium interior trim.
