Posted on eBay is Terry Sayther Automotive's unique conversion: a 1972 BMW 3.0 CSL in the beautiful Golf Yellow paint. The 3.0 CS was made into a lightweight version for racing in the German Touring Car Championship series. Only about 170 of the early non-injected CSL’s were produced. To shed off the weight, thinner body panels, aluminum trunk lid, hood and doors, fiberglass rear bumper, deleted front bumper and plastic rear windows were used.
The vehicle comes with unique Scheel racing seats, bat wing, front air dam, chrome fender lip extensions, air guide above the rear window, black rubber air guides on the front fenders, hood pins, black headliner, fixed rear windows, large swaybars, Bilstein shocks/struts, Split Second MAF conversion, and Alpina staggered wheels (8×16″ & 7×16″) with new Sumitomo HTR series tires. It has no power steering, no airconditioning, no heater, and no sound deadening.
Under the hood, this vehicle is powered by a twin cam 4-valve Motorsport 3.5l S38 and close ratio 5 speed from a nEuro M635CSi. It is fitted with a new radiator and cooling system. The current bid on eBay is around $35,000.
