Original BMW Accessories for even greater driving pleasure

Singapore. BMW Asia now offers the full range of the BMW Performance product line, which includes accessories for the drivetrain, suspension, aerodynamics and cockpit components for BMW 1 Series, BMW 3 Series, BMW X5 and BMW X6.  The BMW Performance product line is the original accessories developed specifically for each model to provide an ever more remarkable driving experience for BMW driver with sporty ambitions.

BMW Performance Power Kit

for BMW 135i and BMW 335i

The BMW Performance Power Kit features both software and hardware upgrade on the standard 3.0-liter straight-six with Twin Turbo Technology and High Precision Injection in the BMW 135i and BMW 335i.  With the upgrades on the engine control unit, ventilation and cooling system, electrical system and airflow, the BMW 135i and BMW 335i with the 6-speed automatic transmission have an increase in the power output by 20 hp to 326 hp, while the maximum torque increases by 50 Nm to 450 Nm.  Yet the fuel efficiency and CO2 emission remains the same as the standard model (based on the EU test cycle).

Whatever combination he chooses, the driver will always enjoy a significant increase in power and performance clearly confirmed by actual measurements.

As an example, the BMW 335i Saloon with the BMW Performance Power Kit accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds, thus completing this standard sprint 0.2 seconds faster than its regular production counterpart.  And acceleration from 80-120 km/h even comes 0.5 seconds faster than in the regular model.

Additional to the BMW Performance Power Kit, the customers can also choose to upgrade the air intake and exhaust silencer system of the BMW 135i and BMW 335i to provide the engine with the optimum amount of air inflow, as well as outflow.

Even more muscle for the BMW X6

Developed specifically for the V8 power unit in the BMW X6 xDrive50i (manufactured before March 2010) and the straight-six in the BMW X6 xDrive35i (manufactured from March 2009 to March 2010), the Performance Power Kit significantly improves both acceleration and elasticity through a further increase in maximum output and peak torque precisely matched to the car’s power characteristics.

The BMW Performance Power Kit comprises appropriate modifications to engine management with a positive effect on the development of power in both engines.  The Kit was developed by BMW’s engine specialists and naturally reflects the high quality standards of the BMW Group with the increase in power and torque remaining in full compliance with all warranty rights and claims on the part of the customer.

The BMW Performance Power Kit raises maximum output of the V8 with BMW TwinPower Turbo and High Precision Injection in the BMW X6 xDrive50i by 41 hp to 448 hp.  Peak torque, in turn, is up by 50 Nm to 650 Nm.  While the six-cylinder power unit of the BMW X6 xDrive35i equipped with Twin Turbo technology and High Precision Injection shows an increase in maximum output by 20 hp to 326 hp, with peak torque increasing by 50 to 450 Nm.

Benefiting from the BMW Performance Power Kit, both models accelerate 0.2 seconds faster from a standstill to 100 km/h, the BMW X6 xDrive50i with the BMW Performance Power Kit completing this sprint in 5.2 seconds, the BMW X6 xDrive35i in 6.5 seconds. Acceleration in gears from 80-120 km/h is 0.5 seconds faster in each model.  Furthermore, the BMW Performance also offers a sports exhaust system.  Available on the BMW X6 xDrive35i, this option stands out clearly through its chrome-plated tailpipes, at the same time offering even lower weight and a particularly striking sound pattern together with a further reduction of exhaust counter-pressure.

Aerodynamics, chassis and suspension:

More powerful look, more fun and more safety

Available across various model range of BMW 1 Series, BMW 3 Series, BMW X5 and BMW X6, the BMW Performance Aerodynamics Kit featuring a striking front apron or bumper, dynamically contoured side-sills, as well as an insert for the rear bumper.  This serves to optimize the dynamic driving qualities of the car and ensure a truly powerful look in everyday traffic.

As for BMW 1 Series and BMW 3 Series, further accessories made of carbon-fiber and tailored to each model include a BMW Performance carbon rear spoiler for the Saloon as well as carbon exterior mirror caps and a BMW Performance carbon diffuser on both body versions.  To enhance the suspension to an even higher standard, the discerning customer has the choice of BMW Performance sports brakes, the BMW Performance suspension and a BMW Performance spring strut dome bar made of carbon-fiber.

The BMW Performance sports brakes for the BMW 1 Series and BMW 3 Series come with extra-large vented brake discs cross-drilled at the front and upgraded by slots in the discs for optimized cooling.  The six-piston fixed-caliper brakes on the front axle, in turn, come in brilliant BMW Performance Yellow and bear the words “BMW Performance”.  The same proud designation is to be admired on the spring strut dome bar fitted within the engine compartment for further enhancement of body stiffness.  The BMW Performance suspension lowers the entire car by up to 25 mm.  Coil springs in sporting BMW Performance Yellow also set an optical highlight through their particular style and colour.

With its particularly sporting set-up, the BMW Performance suspension ensures enhanced handling and safety, as well as optimized performance when driving in very sporting style. But at the same time this special suspension maintains an equally high standard of comfort in everyday traffic.

In addition to the aerodynamics, chassis and suspension, each model comes with BMW Performance light-alloy wheels – 18-inch and 19-inch rim for the BMW 1 Series and BMW 3 Series and 21-inch for the BMW X5 and BMW X6.  Reduced in weight, these cast light-alloy 21-inch wheels stand out in particular through their roll-milled rim hump and exclusive twin-tone finish with a glossy outside surface and Ferric Grey paintwork between the rims. A special production method reduces the weight of each wheel by up to approximately 1.5 kg compared with conventional wheels of the same size.  The reduction in unsprung masses ensured in this way has a positive effect on both the driving dynamics and steering behavior.

Sporty form and function in harmony

BMW Performance products also serve to give the interior the touch of a genuine sports car. As for BMW 1 Series and BMW 3 Series, the BMW Performance sports front seats in bucket motorsport design and finished in black Alcantara offer perfect support and superior seating comfort, with the side airbags also integrated in the seats.  To further enhance the sporty atmosphere inside the cockpit, the interior trim strips in carbon are offered to complement the bucket motorsport-type front seats.

Supplementing these features, the new range of BMW Performance options also includes an innovative multi-function sports steering wheel.  Finished in Alcantara and leather, this special steering wheel is particularly pleasant and safe to hold, an LED display in the upper section of the steering wheel rim presenting a wide range of technical information such as the oil and coolant temperature, lateral and longitudinal acceleration, as well as the gearshift points and the time of day. To retrieve this information, all the driver has to do is press the appropriate buttons in the steering wheel rim.

The current range of BMW Performance products is rounded off, finally, by dark stainless-steel door cutout bars incorporating the designation “BMW Performance” in yellow illumination, trim strips in carbon design on the centre console, the dashboard as well as the front and rear door covers and the side area at the rear, and pedals and footrests made of aluminium.
