BMW 5 Series ActiveHybrid will be released in Sedan Version only

BMW officials have confirmed that the BMW 5 Series Hybrid will only be available next year in the sedan version. This is because folding rear seats cannot be installed with the placement of the 40 kilowatt batteries in its proper position. This will also be true for the Hybrid version of the BMW X6.

The BMW 5 Series Hybrid will be higher in consumption as compared to the 520d which will still be most efficient in the 5 Series fleet. But the BMW 5 Series ActiveHybrid will still be a clean and efficient version.
