BMW Motorrad makes its largest recall of more than 15,000 motorcycles

The BMW Motorrad division is doing largest recall in BMW Motorrad history. They have released three individual recall notices for separate issues all at the same time.

This recall will affect 15,500 owners of 2007-2008 BMW K 1200GT, 2007-2009 BMW R 1200 GS, BMW R 1200 GS Adventure, BMW R 1200 R, BMW R 1200 RT and finally the 2007 BMW R 1200 ST. All of these models have a faulty front brake line that can lead to stress cracks and leaks; which can eventually cause dangerious break problems.

The second issue for the recall is the roll gear pin which can dislodge and create a jam in between the rear sprocket and drive chain, which increases the risk for accidents. This will affect the owners of the 2007 and 2008 BMW G 650 models (X Country, X Moto and X Challenge).

Due to improper manufacturing, the 2009 BMW F 650 GS is exposed to potential drive chain failure. This can cause bike accidents or serious damage to the bike.
