BMW is the most valuable global car brand according to recent study

A study by Millward Brown as part of the BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Global Brands research and annual ranking shows that BMW replaces the Toyota as the world’s most valuable car brand.

Peter Walshe, Millward Brown global brand director, said that BMW has been able to effectively communicate what sets it apart from other carmakers, while still delivering “a very decent product.”

“As one of the great brands in the world, BMW has been absolutely consistent in the long-term regarding what is meaningfully different about their brand, in highly competitive market places,” Walshe said.

BMW last won the top spot as the most valuable car brand in 2010. Then Toyota won the  title for three years between 2006 and 2009, and also 2011. The reason for BMW taking the top spot is attributed to the company improving their position in the Asian market, more specifically China; while the Japanese automaker has been affected by earthquakes, tsunami and other disasters.
