Photo – BMW i3 Coupe Spotted, Parked in a Los Angeles Street

Carscoop published a photo of the BMW i3 Coupe parked just on the side of the street at Los Angeles. This concept car’s production version just made its debut at the 2012 LA Auto Show. It features the LifeDrive architecture, and and the sustainable i design language. Under the hood, the vehicle has an electric motor which develops a maximum output of 125 kW/170 hp and peak torque of 250 Newton metres (184 lb-ft), and then power is delivered to the rear wheels using a single-speed transmission. The electric motor gets its energy from the lithium-ion storage cells stored neatly under the floor of the vehicle. It remains unknown why BMW simply parked the car in public, but this is most likely a marketing technique to bring the i3 closer to the people.
