The BMW Megacity Vehicle will be at the 2012 Olympic Show

The 2012 Summer Olympics will be an exciting event for BMW fans. This is because BMW plans to showcase a Megacity concept car already near the production model during this event in London. Being the official partner of the 2012 games, BMW is confident that guests from all over the world will be able to see and appreciate their upcoming electric cars.

According to BMW’s press release, though the BMW Megacity vehicle will not  be on sale until 2013, showing it off in the 2012 Olympics will help establish BMW as a market leader for electric cars.

The characteristics of the Megacity vehicle is pretty promising. It will be rear-wheel-drive, 3,698 to 4,227 mm long, with a carbon fiber cell, a 100-kiloWatt motor powered by batteries, and enough cargo space. It is expected to have a range of 100 to 130 miles, just enough for city driving according to BMW researches.
