The 2011 BMW 5 Series: Top Three Best Features

There are three very notable positive aspects of the new BMW 5 Series launched in the U.S. market last June, despite much criticism about its electric steering system.

First best feature is the Dynamic Handling Package. This optional feature uses an Adaptive Drive system to increase Electronic Damping Control and Active Roll Stabilization (ARS) to the vehicle. The Driving Dynamics Control gives the owner four choices: Comfort, Normal, Sport and Sport+ — which varies in engine throttle response, transmission shift patterns, steering, and control settings for stability.

The second best feature is the Automated parking assist. With parking cameras, ultrasound sensors, and side indicators  placed in strategic locations on  the vehicle, it gives a top view steady support to the driver not only in fast and easy parking, but in looking 1.20 meters beyond the car’s peripheral vision for a perfect parking slot. What’s interesting is that it can be turned off. When needed, the driver can press the Controller and he can automatically use the Parking Assistant.

The third best feature is the Eight-speed automatic transmission. Dubbed as “Sport Automatic” 8-speed, gives taller cruising gears, reduced fuel consumption, reduced carbon emissions, faster shifts, smoother flow of power during acceleration, and adds quietness to the vehicle.
