Autoweek, a Dutch magazine, produces a comparison between the new Audi RS5 and the BMW M3 Coupe. The BMW M3 is has a naturally aspirated, high revving 4-liter V8 S65B40 engine capable of 414 horsepower at 8,300 rpm and peak torque of 400 Nm at 3,900 rpm. The Audi RS5 on the other hand has a 4.2-liter V-8 engine capable of 450 horsepower at 8250 rpm, peak torque of 317 lb-ft at 4000-6000 rpm. These specifications show us that the Audi RS5 can produce 36 more horsepower than the BMW M3.
The verdict: the Audi is amazing, but the spirit of the M3 is unbeatable.
