Photos – The ALPINA B5 Bi-Turbo

ALPINA recently revealed their new B5 model based on the new F10 BMW 5 Series. The B5 offers Alpina’s own touch of aggressive- ness, luxurious performance, elegant styling, sporty handling and exclusivity just like the B7.

The Alpina B5 can be an alternative to the BMW M5 but it distinguishes itself using oval four tailpipes and larger air bumper vents known to be Alpina trademarks.

It has a BMW V8 engine also used in the B7 which is capable of 507 horsepower at 5,500rpm, and peak torque of 700Nm from 3,000 to 4,750rpm. The indirect inter-cooling system enhances the performance of the engine. Thermo-dynamic efficiency is increased through the use of a large-volume low-temperature inter-cooler and two water-to-air inter-coolers positioned close to the engine. Powerplant is matted to a modified version of ZF’s eight-speed automatic gearbox. The top speed is limited to 191 mph. The car runs dash in only 4.7 seconds.
