Rumor: F87 BMW M2 to output 374 hp?

Auto Bild reports that the future BMW M2 will output 374 horsepower and 520 Newton meters of torque (384 lb-ft). The figures are a bit higher than what we reported previously. Our own sources initially said the output will be between 360 and 370 horsepower, only later to settle on the 360 hp value.

Under the hood, the F87 BMW M2 will be running an updated version of the N55 TwinPower 3.0 liter engine (N55B30T0). The same source reveals that the M2 will be available with both a six-speed manual and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

With an engine that is known for its tuning capabilities, Stage 1 ECU mappings should be able to easily bring up the power output to over 400 horsepower, but still below the 425 hp delivered by the new M3 and M4. The M2 will also come with technology imported from the M3/M4, such as the steering, brake system and the active M differential.
