BMW Motorsport Juniors Jesse Krohn (FI) and Louis Delétraz (CH) have taken to the race track with Schubert Motorsport’s new BMW M6 GT3 for some set-up work. On April 15 to 17, the ADAC GT Masters season will be held at Oschersleben (DE). As part of the preparations, the Motorsport Arena was tested officially and this was also the very first time that the car appeared with its special “Junior” livery.
As the BMW Motorsport Junior car makes its appearance, it also gets compared with the 34 other GT cars that will be racing in the opening of the season.
In just a few days, Krohn will return to Oschersleben where he will participate in the two first races with BMW DTM driver Martin Tomczyk (DE) who will also serve as the young man’s mentor. On the other hand, Delétraz will be racing the BMW M6 GT3 for his debut on the second race weekend at Sachsenring (DE). There, the two junior drivers will be sharing the cockpit for the first time.
During an interview, Jesse Krohn thanked his experiences in the VLN and North America aboard the BMW M6 GT3 for his confidence. Having the chance to drive it before, he will not need much adjustment on the ADAC GT Masters. He also highlights the high potential of the car and wishes to bring that to greater heights through his driving. It is all in the technique and race set-up, he says. Krohn is very excited to work with Tomczyk and is sure to have a lot of fun in the learning and racing process.
Louis Delétraz on the other hand says that this is a new experience for him. In the past, he has been racing with single-seater cars. He is working hard to adjust to the BMW M6 GT3 but he is excited to learn from the experts at Schubert Motorsport. He takes his practice one lap at a time and has already shown tremendous improvement so far in his lap times.
