Krohn & Tomczyk Opens a Bright Season in the BMW M6 GT3

Scoring the first points at the ADAC GT Masters season-opener in Oschersleben (DE) is Jesse Krohn (DE) and Martin Tomczyk (DE). The former is a BMW Motorsport Junior while the latter is a veteran DTM driver. This may look like a striking combination but it actually works! With their great driving skills, they were able to take the BMW M6 GT3 of Schubert Motorsport to the fifth place. The race was meant to last for 60 minutes. A total of ten points were earned.

Krohn (DE) took the ninth place in the qualifying race. It was literally a faultless run for the BMW Motorsport Junior and he was able to gain a very solid start. He then handed the car over to Tomczyk in P11 for the next part of the race. Tomczyk was able to return to the track in P6 after a fruitful pit stop by the Schubert Motorsport team. Thanks also to a drive-through penalty incurred by one of the drivers before him, he was able to bag the fifth place. Winning the first part of the race is a Mercedes driven by Sebastian Asch and Luca Ludwig (DE). When the second part of the race begins on Sunday, Tomczyk will participate in the qualifying round.

BMW Motorsport Junior Jesse Krohn believed that the fifth place is the best possible position that they could achieve for the first part of the race. Aside from being very happy with the BMW M6 GT3’s performance, he also attributes the success to the whole Team Schubert who allowed them to perform this well through guidance and great pit stops.

Martin Tomczyk says that they are off to a good start. He recognizes the contribution of his co-driver and believes that this success would not be possible without his great initial performance. As a seasoned driver, he believes that this BMW Junior can really give the guys in the big leagues a run for their money. He praises Team Schubert for an amazing pit stop. He feels though that he could have done better than just holding his position and admits that he was challenged in keeping up with the front-runners. He has got his eyes on the podium and promises to do his best for the rest of the season.
