The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave a five-star rating to the new 2016 BMW X5.
The X5 got 5Â stars in the front and side crash tests, and 4 stars in the rollover crash test. The model used for testing had a rear-wheel-drive and xDrive.
Some of the features of the new BMW X5 include:
- stability and traction control
- high-performance antilock brakes
- hill-descent control
- front side airbags
- full-length side curtain airbags
- active front head restraints
As for the optional features, the future owners can opt for the Driver Assistance Plus package that includes an active blind-spot monitoring, a camera system with side-view and top-view, and lane-departure warning.
