The new BMW 1 Series models are getting more polished each time.
Two upgraded models are announced for this summer, the BMW 120i and 125i. They will feature slightly revised engines which will increase their power a bit.
Both 3-door and 5-door models will receive these upgrades. The 2-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine for the 120i will go from 177 HP and 250 Nm of torque to 184 HP and 270 Nm of torque. It will have a 6-speed manual transmission gear, but there will also be another option, an eight-speed automatic ZF-sourced cog-swapper. Both versions of the 120i will take 7.1 seconds to go from 0 to 100 km/h.
As for the 125i, it will get a 17 HP increase – from 217 to 224 HP, but the torque figure will remain at 310 Nm. The transmission choices are the same as the model above and they include the 6-speed manual and the 8-speed automatic. The 125i requires 6.1 seconds to go from 0 to 100 km/h.
The current models will be replaced by the new ones starting this July.
