Chris Harris from Top Gear Drives a MINI in the Season Premiere

The new season of Top Gear premiered this Sunday on BBC with Chris Harris as a new host. We will no longer enjoy watching Clarkson, Hammond, and May, but if you miss them, they will be back in a new show called “The Grand Tour”.

The video above shows the new Top Gear track, and the host Chris Harris is testing it with a MINI Cooper. Quite an unusual decision, right?

Well, turns out that MINI handles the track very well. Being that MINI vehicles are not really designed for rallycross terrains, it probably got some heavy adjustments in order to show up on the show. The only confusing thing was when Harris stated that they wanted to use a ‘reasonably priced car’ for the show – MINI cars are not really known for their low prices.

The video format alone is also interesting, as it comes in the full 360 degrees. If it’s not working for you, make sure you’re using Google Chrome and try again. You’ll really get the feeling like you’re driving in the car along with Harris.
