Video: 580 HP BMW F80 M3 Review by Drag Times

Drag Times Info is known for their ridiculous drag races with incredibly powerful cars battling against each other. The races usually happens in Russian ground. Recently, they started to make reviews and the new BMW X5 M and new 7 Series has been ticked off their list. This time, they decided to review the BMW F80 M3. Take a look on this video:

The BMW M3 has been reviewed multiple times and people are generally happy about its performance. Almost al past reviews say that is a in improvement over its predecessor in terms of handling, acceleration, performance and even looks. However, Drag Times did not have the same opinion.

Their test vehicle was not the ordinary M3. The owner of the car decided that the stock 431 HP the 3-liter twin-turbo engine made in stock was not enough so he went to Evotech to get a power increase. The tuner fitted the M3 with a new exhaust system from Akrapovic, new catless downpipes and a new ECU map that supposedly took the power up to around 580 HP. With such a drastic increase in grunt on the rear axle, it’s easy to see how the rear differential can get a bit overwhelmed.

The reviewer basically complained about this. They think that tuning this car to such high values can easily make it unusable. They say that accelerating hard will start feeling more like you’re skating on ice and not driving on clean asphalt. There was also this comment about the engine sound being quite poor compared to the old 4-liter V8 installed in the BMW E92 M3. In the beginning it may be fun but it gets tiring very quickly.
