This video from the Bugatti circuit of Le Mans provides a detailed view of the BMW M2 and the M4 with the BMW Performance Parts. On the sound department, these vehicles give out a similar somewhat understated sound with a decent growl. Check out how they stack up in exhaust sound note, on this video below:
The BMW TwinPower Turbo engines gives decent sounds but not quite like the old V8s. Though many enthusiasts miss the good old days of V8 engines or straight sixes, this newer, powerful, and torque happy naturally aspirated engines actually do very well in the delivery and fuel economy department. The demands of the generation has changed and so the vehicles evolved as necessary.
The engines of these vehicles are actually very similar. The BMW M2 is powered by a 3.0-liter straight-six engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology delivering 370 horsepower. It accelerates to 62mph (0-100km/h) in just 4.3 seconds when matted to a seven-speed M Dual Clutch Transmission system. On the other hand, the BMW M4 is powered by a 3.0-liter BMW TwinPower Turbo engine delivering 425 horsepower. It accelerated from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in just 4.1 seconds if matted to a Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT). The power levels, output and acceleration of both cars are actually quite close.
Which one do you pick?
