With the unveiling of Alfa Romeo Giulia, it was clear that the Italians had only one thing in mind: to rival the BMW 3 Series. The Giulia Quadrifoglio was built to compete with the BMW M3, and now it seems like the Italian automaker is about to create the BMW 5 Series rival.
As Auto Express reports, the Italians are trying hard to make the “Giorgio” platform as good as possible. It’s the platform they used for Giulia and are now using for the new SUV, Stelvio. Since the goal is tho sell 400,000+ units made on this platform, Alfa Romeo will start producing another midsize sedan, a direct competitor to the BMW 5 Series, Audi A6, and Mercedes-Benz E-Class.
It won’t be easy for Alfa to convince the market to go with them rather than the BMW, Mercedes-Benz, or Audi. The company is known for some typical flaws their cars have, plus they are going to need a huge marketing campaign to reach the people and, furthermore, convince them to actually buy an Alfa car.
