Watch: BMW Ultimate Racing Game

Just when you think the new Pokemon Go is the most exciting game right now, BMW comes up with something way cooler: the Ultimate Racing Game. BMW outfitted the BMW M6 and M6 GTLM with RC technology to create a real-life racing game (Seriously, every BMW enthusiast’s dream). In this video, watch as professional racecar driver John Edwards and BMW Chief Driving Instructor Matt Mullins play the game. Both drivers have driven thousands of tracks throughout their racing careers. But never like this.

The footage was taken at the Monticello Motor Club track. The cars were seen sliding through the corners and even getting very close to one another! Like a true blue racing game, Edwards and Mullins trash talk one another. It’s pretty much like real life Gran Turismo.

In the end, Edwards wins with the GTLM. Mullins was unable to keep up with his M6 car and drops the race in the middle of the game for a hotdog sandwich. The video is quite funny but the real mystery here is: did they actually drive these cars remotely and if so, how the hell did they do it?

Right now, we still can’t determine if this is a true game or just a cinematographic work. With the technology these days, everything is possible. Remotely controlling two race cars however seems to be incredibly difficult.

Stay tuned as we find out more about this BMW Ultimate Racing Game
