There are many drag races that can be considered as unfair competition and this one of those. Putting the smaller BMW M2 against the larger and more powerful Competition Package BMW M4 is like a bully taking advantage of the smaller kid in the neighbourhood. Watch how it goes, on this video:
Auto Bild was not entirely blindsided when they made this comparison. They knew that the BMW M2 was smaller and weaker than the M4. However, they wanted to know just how big of a difference the two actually have, especially when the M4 is fitted with the Competition Package. This matters to people who may be choosing which one of the two he/she should purchase.
Though the M4 is leading in terms of features and capabilities, the BMW M2 does make up for being super fun to drive. It may be slower on a straight line and more toned down but it doesn’t scare the driver. The BMW M4 on the other hand can be a tough nut to crack. BMW engineers designed this car in such a way that the torque and power is sent to the rear wheels. It is so aggressive that it comes with a brutality that may make a driver feel uncomfortable. Though its good that the BMW M4 has lots of driving modes to choose from, ironically, the lack of these in the M2 is one of its strong suits. The M2 is just simple and easy to understand in general.
