There was a lot of buzz about the new i car in the last couple of months. The most mentioned model seems to be the BMW i5, an electric car that looks like a crossover and a Tesla cars rival.
The project, for now, goes under the FSAR acronym (flat battery storage assembly). It’s similar to the CLAR platform in terms of developing several cars on a single channel. Moreover, the two platforms will share come technological solutions, such as faster 5G mobile chips for autonomous driving.
Today we have the new rendering of the BMW i5, done by OmniAuto. Their illustration seems to be on point: it’s a crossover-style with a high ground clearance.
It might be called i5, i6, or something else. Whatever the BMW decides, it’s likely that we’ll meet the new i family baby by the in the next couple of years. The 3rd i car is certainly not going to come to the market without some top-notch technology.
