J.D. Power 2016 U.S. APEAL Study Award for 3 BMWs

In this year’s J.D. Power 2016 U.S. APEAL Study Awards, 25 models were recognized for their overall appeal to customers. Annually, J.D. Power looks at automotive segments, from small cars and SUVs, to midsize, even to premium SUVs and sports cars, just to find out how customers feel about these vehicles. This is an important award because automakers spend much time and effort in creating vehicles that really appeal to the market and compels them to purchase one.

The study conducts a survey on new vehicle owners and asks them how they feel about the car after 90 days of ownership. Eight categories are checked: engine/transmission; ride, handling and braking; comfort/convenience; seats; cockpit/instrument panel; heating, ventilation and cooling; sound system; and styling/exterior. One MINI and three BMWs were recognized based on these standards.

The BMW 2 Series won in the Small Premium Car segment, thanks to the various improvements to the coupe and convertible variants’ standard and optional equipment.

The BMW X1 won in the Small Premium SUV segment. This goes against the idea that people disliked the new front-wheel drive architecture. Turns out that users are quite happy about it once they really experience the benefits of it.

The BMW X6 dominated the Midsize Premium SUV segment. It can carry five-adults and a lot of cargo and still perform like a sports car. This is an absolute thrill to the customers who have purchased one.
