The BMW M6 GT3 Endurance Race car gives us a win to start the week right! This is the first major endurance race that the particular car won. The No. 99 BMW M6 GT3 dominated the 24 Hours of Spa with Alexander Sims behind the wheel. It was a part of the ROWE Racing Team.

It was a very close fight between the No. 99 and the No. 88 AMG-Team AKKA ASP Mercedes-AMG GT3 which was driven by Felix Rosenqvist. Sims’ lead was only 1 minute 55 seconds. It was such an exciting finish to watch!

The BMW M6 GT3 battled the No. 8 Bentley for most of the race. However, the Bentley was forced to pit for the minimum pit time requirement of 2 minutes and 15 seconds, due to a right rear tire puncture. This cost them the chance for a podium finish. The Bentley competed very well in the race and it was a tough blow, especially since the No. 8 Bentley and No. 99 BMW exchanged leads throughout the race.

The BMW ROWE Racing team also experienced an unexpected retirement of the No. 98 BMW M6 GT3 due to gearbox failure.

All is well as BMW brand’s new race car gets its first major endurance victory. This is a back to back victory since the BMW M6 GT3 replaces the BMW Z4 GT3 which also won the 24 Hours of Spa last year. Two different cars, two wins.

The BMW Z4 GT3 was a tough model to follow since it is one of the most successful endurance cars in the history of the sport. Understandably, there were some doubts if the M6 GT3 can pick up from where the predecessor went off. This win just seals the deal that it is a worthy successor.
