The exterior photo of the BMW 1 Series sedan exclusive for the Chinese market was already seen by the automotive world. That will be the first sedan built using BMW’s new front-wheel drive UKL architecture. Just from the looks of it, the car looks really good. It is expected to do really well in competing with the other front-wheel drive-based sedans in China like Audi and Mercedes-Benz. Here are some images of the new compact sedan in the flesh!
The development and testing of the new compact sedan was done in the BMW headquarters. Chinese engineers were also involved in the process. It was subjected to intensive road tests and exposed to different circumstances of road conditions and climates in China’s different terrains.

The UKL platform is being questioned by some enthusiasts but it will actually make the 1 Series Sedan better, and fun to drive.
