Along with the announced 8 Series, BMW will apparently launch a 7 Series Coupe version. The Automotive News report that this luxury coupe will be the first among the several new models Bavarians are considering in order to lift the sales of their top luxury model.
The current 7 Series isn’t selling as good as its direct competitor – the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, and it’s understandable that the BMW wants to change that. The report blames the 7er’s lack of technological features and “boring” design for this decline in sales.
The 7 Series Coupe should still go against the S-Class, while the new 8 Series will compete with the Maybach brand and its hottest models.
