BMW i8 Protonic Blue color discontinued

It is very unfortunate to learn that one of the most striking colors for the BMW i8, the Protonic Blue, is being discontinued by the German automaker. The BMW i8 launched at the Frankfurt Auto Show in 2013 with this color. Fans have definitely loved this paint job since it highlighted the sexy and futuristic design of the i8.

BMW i8 Protonic Blue color discontinued

When the i8 launched, it was available in Ionic Silver, Protonic Blue, Crystal White and Sophisto Grey. There are not news yet if the color will be replaced by a new one, or if there will be new colors added to the catalogue. We’d love to see the ones done on limited models such as the Protonic Red and Dark Silver.

The UK is lucky to have BMW Individual colors for the BMW i8 hybrid sportscar. The new BMW Individual color will include Java Green, Speed Yellow, Solar Orange, Twilight Purple Pearl, Frozen Grey, Frozen Black, San Marino Blue and Grigio Telesto Pearl, among others.

Stay tuned for more news if this color is temporarily or permanently discontinued.
