Video: Real Life BMW Transformer Robot!

Car modifications can really be crazy at times but this one has just won the internet today. If you think putting in Viper engines on a small BMW 3 Series or creating an M3 pick up truck is already over the top, well, you have to see this. This is the very first time we’ve ever seen a BMW modded to become a Transformer robot!

This is a project of a Turkish company names Letrons. Inspired by the movie franchise, they decided to turn an E92 BMW 3 Series into a Transformer. The robot is actually very tall and it transforms into one in just a click of a button. The work they’ve done here is very impressive and we could just imagine the cost and effort that goes into making one.

In the video, it is shown how the fenders slide outward so the entire body seems to stand up. This all pivots around the rear axle. The underbody then becomes the chest plate for a large robot. The fenders stick out like arms and the head of the Transformer robot magically pops up from out of the chest. It actually does these all without even wobbling. It is very sturdy. To add more to the show, the head, arms and fingers actually move!

Letron says that this is just a prototype and they are trying to make more models that will beat this one. The legs actually don’t move for this prototype and that’s a limitation the company is still working on. The purpose of creating these Transformer robots is not very clear. They may plan to sell it but at this point, we’re not sure if there will be a market for this or if people can afford the tag price once this becomes a fully functioning robot.
