The new MINI John Cooper Works Challenge is exciting for a number of reasons. First, it was designed and built by a MINI skunkworks team specifically for the UK. It is indeed one of a kind. Production of the MINI JCW Challenge car is limited to 100 units only. The car may not look like an extraordinary MINI from the exterior. On paper, the standard 228 hp 2.0 liter turbocharged engine matted to a six-speed manual gearbox doesn’t sound very special. However, it performs quite impressively on track.
It has a Quaife mechanical front limited-slip differential, Nitron adjustable coil-over racing suspension, 13 inch rotors with Brembo calipers at each corner and Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires. Talk about utilising the full potential of the chassis.
The noise of the car is also quite insane. For its engine, it sounds awesome enough to thrill any automotive enthusiast.
