BMW’s change to the new B-family of engines is mostly completed for most of the current vehicles. The new, and better technology has been rolled out by BMW for more power and to improve performance. The new engine technology was first seen in the BMW 340i. In this video, the guys from Shiftech fitted a BMW F31 340i Touring with a new custom exhaust from Akrapovic. Check out the sound here!
Since the new engine architecture was used, there’s really an improvement in the growl. It became louder and thicker, instead of the more refined sound of the standard one. This particular tune gives a completely different sound, especially when the car is stationary or when rolling. The Akrapovic exhaust system used here comes at a price, though. It may be particularly appealing to those who want to achieve a deeper growl for their cars.
