The BMW E92 M3 had a very impressive growl that people loved. It was powered by a 4-liter V8 engine. The successor, the BMW M4, was powered by a straight six instead. A lot of people are still comparing their sounds even if the V8 and a straight six are not apples to apples. Can the BMW M2 then compete with the M4 in terms of sound? Find out on this exhaust soundcheck:
These cars featured on the exhaust soundcheck video here are two 2016 BMW M2 F87 Coupès. They both have the BMW M Performance exhaust system and they show them off to the camera. All the revving that happened here gave us a good idea of how both cars sound like.
The bore and stroke is obviously different because the BMW M2 uses an upgraded version of the N55 engine while the M3 and M4 models use the brand new S55 engine. That in itself will make them sound very different. Both have their own character and have great sounds. Now, which one will you choose?
