Is the BMW 6 Series GT arriving in 2018?

The first generation of the Gran Turismo was often unfairly criticized for its design. It was built using a long wheelbase and the seating position was comparatively high. BMW always takes from the feedback of the market and so we are expecting a better car this time.

The images above are renderings by X-Tomi Design where they show us what the new 6 Series GT may look like in 2018. One is the regular model and the other is the M-version of it. These images were inspired by the design cues seen from the recently unveiled 5 Series Sedan.

The 6 Series Gran Turismo is expected to have its own identity and look that’s more luxurious. The proportions may be the same but it will have a sleeker-looking design. Expect that the headlights flow into the kidney grille, while a sporty character line sits across the side of the car, and the slopping roof line meets an appealing rear design.

The new premium GT range includes the 620d to 640d. Diesel units are the 630i to 640i. The U.S. available unit is the 640i xDrive and its a petrol one.

The interior will be classy, premium and sporty. A redesigned dashboard is expected with a free-standing LCD display and a lot of premium features similar to the 7 Series.

Since the current 6 Series Coupe and Gran Coupe are moving up in class, the 6 Series GT arriving may be the only model offered by BMW in the 6 Series classification.
