BMW is already brewing the the new 8 Series flagship model. This is good news to the premium car lover since this high-end BMW car will be sitting atop the entire current lineup. Expect the new BMW 8 Series coupe to be in the middle of the 7 series and Rolls-Royce Wraith. It definitely fills a gap in the current line-up of the German brand. So when is the convertible and coupe arriving exactly?
The demand of the market is actually dictating the need for a BMW 8 Series coupe. Mercedes-Benz is already ahead of the game by pushing the S Class Coupe and Cabriolet. Thanks to the competition, BMW is aiming to create a bigger, more powerful, and more luxurious vehicle for our driving pleasure.
Automobilwoche reports that the two-door flagship coupe is arriving in the latter half of 2018, while the convertible model will be arriving in 2019. Word about the BMW M8 is also circulating but the report says it is still under discussion.
The 8 Series will be built on the current CLAR architecture which is also used for the 7 Series and 5 Series. Sitting above the 7 Series, the 8 Series will longer — thus easily taking the spot as the longest car in BMW’s fleet.
It would not be high-end without all the luxuries. Expect to see the modern luxurious technological features combined with higher-end engines that we have never seen before. With the 8 Series Convertible and Coupe arriving soon, we could not be more eager.
