The BMW i8 has been reviewed many times and it has only proven a few things: it’s a single carbon fiber monocoque, that it is incredibly rigid and light, and has a perfectly matched 1.5 liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine mated to an electric motor that develops 228 hp and 236 lb-ft of torque. It has another electric motor that makes 129 horsepower and 184 lb-ft. The combined capability is 357 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. Since it only weighs around 3,400 lbs, it can keep up with most sports cars in the market today.

The all-new Acura NSX challenges the position of the BMW i8 as tyhe top electric sports car. The Acura has a similar setup, but more power. Under the hood, it has a twin-turbocharged 3.5 liter V6 engine mated to an electric motor that makes 500 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. It sends power through a nine-speed dual-clutch automatic.

So which one of the hybrid hell raisers is actually better in terms of speed an handling? Carfection said they prefer driving the NSX but did not declare an outright winner.
