The thief allegedly found a BMW 550i unlocked so he went in and drove away. At 5 in the morning, the owner found out that the car was missing and alerted the police. Once the location was determined through BMW’s tracker, the car was found in an alley where the suspect was sleeping inside. The only thing left to do was to remotely lock the car so he could not go out. BMW employees helped throughout the process. The alleged thief tried to speed away again but he was unsuccessful. He was then charged with drug possession and auto theft.

This is a perfect example of how BMW’s features really have practical use.
