BMW of Spain introduced their own interpretation of an M4 CS last year. It was not a product of the M division and it was limited to the Spanish market only. BMW M just trademarked the M4 CS name, which signals a global release.

The M4 CS of today is a toned down version of the exclusive BMW M4 GTS. It is versatile and has an increase in power to 450hp. It also has exclusive 20-inch wheels, adaptive M chassis and carbon-ceramic brakes, rear spoiler, carbon fiber front splitter and air curtains, a rear diffuser, blacked out kidney grills, side mirrors, and new seats design.

In an interview with Bimmertoday, BMW M boss Frank Van Meel said that the M4 CS developed by the M division will not be close to the car we just saw in Spain.

“The Spanish M4 CS was a market-specific configuration, not a product of the M GmbH. The vehicle [M4 CS] also looked great and bore the name CS, but this has nothing to do with the future CS models. The fact that we have secured the rights to the name has already been known some time ago – and we will speak of this in the near future.”

The future BMW M4 CS will be positioned between the current M4 Coupe Facelift and the M4 GTS. Expect carbon fiber parts and CS model specific goodies when it is presented to the public.
