BMW M2 CS Production Starts in March 2018

Before the potential production starts for the BWM M2 GTS in March 2019, we’ll see the M2 CS on the market in less than a year – in March 2018.

The new CS symbol CS on the boot stands for Clubsport and promises additional performance, which will indeed deliver thanks to revised engineering layouts. The M2 CS is likely to be available with the same six-speed manual and 7-speed M-DCT transmissions. What remains a mystery for now are the additional performance-related changes that the M2 will offer. Possible enhancements to aerodynamics and some lightweight materials are the obvious choice, while a sports tuned suspension will bring the M2 CS closer to its rivals, like the Porsche Cayman GT4. The current M2 is scheduled to have its production run end at the end of 2017 which leaves room for the M2 CS in the following year, which will also feature the lifecycle impulse on the M2 design.

This can still count as a rumor, as it comes from an unnamed source at a German car forum. We can only hope the guy got the right info!

The CS in the name of the new model means Clubsport and it should perform even better. The current ‘regular’ M2’s production should end by the end of 2017, which makes the math right – there could easily be the CS version by the beginning of the next year.
