Ian Robertson Retires Next Year, Pieter Nota to Replace Him

Dr. Ian Robertson will retire next year and will be replaced by Pieter Nota as BMW AG Board of Management and the number one for sales as brand BMW and BMW Group aftersales from January 1, 2018.

However, Dr. Robertson will continue to serve as a Special Representative of BMW Group in the UK for another six months, until June 30, 2018. Dr. Norbert Reithofer, Chairman of the BMW AG Supervisory Board, commented:

For almost a decade on the Board of Management of BMW AG, Ian Robertson has shaped the image and future direction of the BMW brand and the BMW i and BMW M sub-brands. Even through challenging economic times, he enabled the continuous growth of the company by achieving one sales record after the other. I would like to thank him for his accomplishments and am pleased that he will remain with the company as a BMW Group Ambassador for the UK, one of our most important markets and production locations.

Nota will move to BMW from Royal Philips where he is currently on the position of Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President for “Personal Health”, one of the company’s segments.

Harald Krüger, BMW AG Chairman of the Board of Management, shared that he’s happy with Nola joining the team:
