MUNICH (Reuters) – BMW has enjoyed a strong performance so far in the first quarter
of 2006, its head of purchasing, research and development told Reuters on Wednesday
on the sidelines of an industry event.
When asked how the first quarter went, Burkhard Goeschel replied: "superbly".
The company is targeting a another all-time best in deliveries and earnings
this year, with pretax profit forecast at 4 billion euros including one-off
gains from the sale of shares in aircraft engine maker Rolls-Royce.
Goeschel reaffirmed that the group would continue to expand its product range.
