Upcoming BMW Z4 Concept Teased!

This teaser photo of the upcoming BMW Z4 Concept has just been released by the German automaker. The concept car is set to be unveiled at Pebble Beach on Thursday, August 17th. This new roadster is a continuation of BMW’s open-top tradition.

Upcoming BMW Z4 Concept Teased!

The next-gen BMW Z4 will be the sibling of the Toyota Supra since it will be built on a sports car chassis co-designed by both BMW and Toyota. It will be rear-wheel drive as-standard, will come in four-cylinder and six-cylinder variants. The soft-top roof will make a comeback for this variant. As always, BMW makes this new version lighter, faster and sharper than its predecessor.

The BMW Z4 will be powered by a range of 2-liter 4-cylinder engines and 3-liter straight six engines. The entry-level model will most likely be the sDrive20i with a near-200 HP engine under the hood. The sDrive30i will come with 252 PS while in the 3-liter straight six we’ll have the B58 mill tuned to make probably 340 HP in a likely M Performance version of the Z4.

The teaser image doesn’t show much aside from the unique design of the kidney grille and the double headlights that are sitting upwards. The vents in the front bumper are huge and gives the front fascia a very aggressive look. The side view shows two creases running from the rear to front, with muscular fenders in the rear.
