Next BMW 3 Series will be equipped with lots of new technology

Autocar reports that BMW is developing a wide range of new technologies that will first appear in the next generation 3 Series. This will include an intelligent drive dubbed “Connected Drive meets Efficient Dynamics” which will allow the vehicle to collect data from the outside such as traffic, road conditions, and a whole lot more. The data gathered by the car will be merged with on-board information, giving the driver a calculation of the most efficient way to run and drive the vehicle.

It will offer the driver and intelligent way to drive by providing the quickest route to the destination by using the ILENA intelligent sat-nav.

The Connected Drive meets Efficient Dynamics system will use cameras, lasers, sensors, and telemetric functions for traffic information to do the data collection. The Efficient Dynamics function of this technology is expected to deliver up to 15% of fuel economy. This is also the technology that BMW will be using to reduce the CO2 emissions of its 2013 BMW 320d Efficient Dynamics to 99 g/km, and 90 g/km mark for the 2015 model.

Other functions will include Autopark and Smart Key swipe card that can hold credit and codes that can work as train tickets or open doors to pre-booked hotel rooms. BMW is indeed providing more intelligent options for the market.
