The Test Drive for 2021 BMW 545e is ongoing and its scheduled evaluation is on August 12. But before then, we will show you the newest plug-in hybrid from Munich, a comprehensive photo gallery. The BMW 5 Series also launched vast powertrain enhancements. The facelifted BMW 5 Series introduced major powertrain improvements and enhanced plug-in hybrid as it was launched last month.

Starting this Fall, the latest BMW 545e PHEV edition will be available with xDrive and it will only be reserved for the Sedan body only. The brand new 545e xDrive borrows from the 745e and X5 xDrive45e powertrain. And has a maximum powertrain capacity of 394 hp.

Powered by a 6-cylinder petrol engine, the 2021 BMW 545e xDrive Sedan has a maximum output of 210 kW 286 HP (2 82 hp).

The petrol-electric duo incorporates the combined output of the plug-in hybrid device to a maximum of 290 kW/394 PS (388 horsepower). And it can go at a peak level of 290 kW/394 hp. The optimized torque is maximally 600 Nm (442 lb-ft). Supplied with the Steptronic8-speed transmission on the BMW xDrive all-wheel-drive platform. The latest 545e xDrive Sedan operates between 54 and 57 Km (34 – 35 miles). As per WLTP, in a purely electrical mode.

The BMW eDrive Zones will be the standard feature for the 545e xDrive. The device will automatically turn in all-electric running mode the moment it detects the hybrid 5-series plugin into a specified BMW eDrive location.

Unfortunately, if you reside in the United States, the BMW 545e is not available there. BMW of North America has not yet verified if they are going to produce this model in the said area.
