Sim racing events – dominated by BMW Z4 GT3 and M4 GT4

Various events of real-life racing has somewhat returned and are already taking place around the world, and accordingly made sim-racing less interesting. Yet competitions are still going on. Actually, events such as the DTM or the IMSA Championship in the US are currently happening. And during this weekend, BMW cars has proved that they are still doing great. The Z4 GT3 and M4 GT4 showed this during the Digital Nürburgring Endurance Series powered by VCO.

This season, Kay Kay Kaschube and Nils Koch tightly missed out on their third win. From standstill, they led for much of the race in the BMW Bank Z4 GT3 but eventually beaten by a matter of seconds; as a result of making one pit stop more than the winners. Run by the BS+COMPETITION team, BMW works driver Beitske Visser came home sixth alongside Cem Bolukbasi from Turkey in the second BMW Z4 GT3.

Also in action during the Nürburgring-Nordschleife is the BMW M4 GT4, making its first appearance in round six. In best-placed #376 BMW M4 GT4 run by the SimRC.de team was Marcel Fassbender. He was racing for victory in the SP10 class for much of the race until finishing in second place. And overall, in round seven of the DNLS powered by VCO, four BMW M4 GT4 competed.

Although real-life racing resumed, sim-racing events will definitely carry on. Honestly, these events proved useful for racing drivers especially during the first stage of pandemic. They allowed drivers to practice inside while being stuck at home. This virtual realm of races have showcased a lot of skills from some of the best drivers in the world. The virtual racing is still pretty exhilarating, to tell you the truth, even though F1 has already resumed.
