Later this year, BMW prepares to launch its production model of the iNEXT (iX). Munich’s marketing department appears to have agreed with the iX name, showing a similarity with the coming i4 electric vehicle. Numerical identifiers will differentiate the iX names as well.
The talk of the town highlights that this futuristic electric crossover will have three variants. Its assumed power range will stretch from 300 to 600 horsepower. Also, a powerful electric range gives one of the three BMW iX models a unique setup. Of course, this will be measured on the WLTP cycle.
On a full charge, one iX variant will render at least 600 to 620 kilometres. The entry-level variant, however, will possibly deliver more than 400 kilometres of pure electric driving. And as for the models that will arrive in the United States, it will possibly gain a lower EPA rating.
It’s no doubt that this ideal BMW electric car is a result of a great investment. Thus, witnessing some thrilling and interesting tech on its debut will be expected. One of the most anticipated is the BMW Natural Interaction. It’s a new and innovative concept in communicating with the car and is also touch-responsive. With the use of advanced materials, the iX and other premium BMW models will allegedly be integrated with this feature.
Another anticipated new technology is the Continental’s Intelligent Glass Control. A feature that is available on other vehicles since 2007 but not on cars that show the same price range as the iX. Added to the list is the 5G technology. Eventually, these new technologies will also showcase itself in the other range of models.
The BMW iX will also display a minimalist quality interior matched with large touchscreens. This electric crossover is still waiting though if it will wear the next iDrive 8 system.
In late 2021, the BMW iX will arrive in the United States and will also be launched by 2025 as part of the fully-electric BMWs.
