[Video] WhatCar Gives an Award to the BMW 330e

Even though we are in these trying times, WhatCar still held its annual awards ceremony. Thus, we were able to witness their own set of best cars in different categories. And the BMW 330e is one of them. This plug-in hybrid gains the award for the best Hybrid Executive Car. And we can tell why in this video.

WhatCar emphasized that executive cars won these awards in the past without even breaking out in a sweat. The reason is, back then, they were mostly charged by diesel engines. In spite of that, these older diesel vehicles are put to shame by the new variety of hybrids. The greatest example would be the BMW 330e. Even when its battery expires, the 330e still manages to hit exceptional fuel consumption figures. As mentioned by WhatCar, the electric-only range is capable of covering 37 miles, which is impressive.

As long as the 330e is charged well, you can drive it electrically day in and day out. This would be a perfect proposal for those who drive daily or those who live in the city. Added with the fact that its average mpg can increase close to 40 even when the engine checks out. The BMW 330e becomes an excellent choice for many people as it can meet the emissions regulations. There are several big cities that are suggesting fees or bans on diesel cars for accessing the city regions.

We are possibly seeing the new wave of PHEV cars. Including as well the path towards cleaner alternative and dropping the diesel for passenger vehicles. Many people hope so. Although diesels are fine, it’s rare to find those that can impress us with its straight six engines. A good change is good and we are somehow seeing this kind of change taking place.
